KLOS Family History
At the age of 22 Reinhart Klos journeyed from Prussia (Germany) to London where he secured passage on the passenger ship Yorktown. Yorktown docked in New York, New York on April 29, 1851. This would have been around the time Prussia was experiencing turmoil and religious persecution. The ship manifest listed Reinhard Kloss, age 22, as a farmer from Germany. Reinhart settled for a short time in Will County, Illinois and then relocated to Jasper County, Iowa.
